Our challenge was to change perceptions among young people toward Volunteering. Rather than being something your aunty might do, reposition it as a ‘cool thing to do’. Something that would appeal to 25-year-old+ adults. This involved finding interesting and unexpected examples of what volunteering might entail and aligning it to skills young people have. Teaching people to surf. Working in an indie radio station. Planting trees. We also highlighted the flexibility in being able to volunteer close to home and at times that suit you.
